September 22nd is the 1st Annual Fall Prevention Awareness Day!
September 22, 2010 was officially proclaimed in Illinois as Fall Prevention Awareness Day by Governor Pat Quinn and the Foundation for Education and Musculoskeletal Research.
FEMR helped to raise awareness for fall prevention and bone health with an educational lecture to the Orthopaedic floor staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
There was also a public presentation of the proclamation at Advocate Lutheran General. Matthew Jimenez, MD the Founder & CEO of FEMR received praise and support from the hospital and community government officials for his work promoting bone health.
